From 1958, the transom of all Boston Whaler's 13' hull were designed to fit a 15" short shaft outboard motor. In 1971 the sink-well was introduced. 

 

KentFab manufactures two different models of the Transdapter based on the back of your boat, the original and SINK models. These adapters work to fill the gap between the motor and the boat hull and allow you to to carry up to a 20" shaft motor without permanently jeopardizing the integrity of your boat.​​​
